After 25 years of law enforcement, Dennis wants to give back to the community, and help eliminate the #1 cause of death to 16 year old's, and the #1 cause of injury to a person 15-20 years of age so, they designed a program that is more comprehensive than the regular driving schools found in your local yellow pages.

Drive Home Safe Driving School not only teaches the basic skills to pass the state drivers test to get a drivers license, but goes above and beyond the state requirements to deliver a powerful and concentrated teen driver education program giving teens the skills necessary to drive defensively and safely in all road conditions and situations.

All defensive driving instructors in the classroom and behind the wheel are trained by law enforcement professionals. The program starts with 30 hours of classroom instruction. Once the student passes the Learner's Permit Test, its now time to get "hands-on" experience in the real world of driving a motor vehicle.

The student gets six hours behind the wheel with a Drive Home Safe qualified licensed instructor. The hands-on behind the wheel experience vehicle used in the program is a Kia Soul, new for 2010, the Kia Soul has a 5-star frontal crash rating -NHTSA with standard dual front advanced airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, front active headrests, front & rear 3-point seat-belt anchors, side-impact door beams, lower anchors & tethers for children, rear child-safety door locks, tire-pressure monitoring system, 4-wheel disc brakes, anti-lock braking system, and electronic stability control.

The Soul's active safety systems are engineered to help you avoid accidents, and its passive systems are designed to help minimize injures when they are unavoidable. This means that front to back and top to bottom, Drive Home Safe and Soul are engineered to help protect occupants. The advanced front airbag system monitors the severity of an impact, the presence of a front passenger and seat-belt use, and then controls airbag inflation accordingly. In addition, front seat-belt pretensions tighten slack in the seat belts in the event of a collision, and the force limiters then quickly let out the appropriate amount of additional belt to limit pressure on the body. The result? A whole lot of pease of mind.

Utilizing the Soul vehicle gives the student a better real-world-feel for driving vehicles of the crossover small to mid size sporty car that everyone wants to drive. Every instructor has the teen drive on the street in regular traffic, and advanced driving skills on a special obstacle course with cones to dial in even more defensive driving skills.

The twelve hours behind the wheel are broken up into six segments of two hours each behind the wheel with an instructor and another student for observation requirements, and a total of no less than 50 hours driving with one of your parent's in the front passenger seat. The program seeks to work closely with each student's parents.

Drive Home Safe Driving School works in conjunction with Experience Kia in North Aurora, once successfully passing the Illinois DMV road test, the teen and his parents can visit Experience Kia and receive a discount on a new or used Kia, or other vehicle of their choice.
